Music really moves

I love praise and worship! It's at this time where I'm able to get sooo close to GOD! If I could I would do it 24/7! I know what I'm going to be doing in heaven singing and dancing! 2 passions in my life, praise and worship, and helping people. So what can I do with both of these to serve the Lord? Both are 2 different things but in a way similar as well. I want to be able to just totally live my God given passions! I don't want to stand in front of God when he asks me " what have you done with the gifts and passions I gave you?" mmmmm I I I went to church....NOPE! I don't want to do that! So I'm really praying and seeking.
Weekends are great but just too short don't you agree? Weekends seems to be a bit more busy then my weekdays! Might kinda sound weird but right now it how it is.
Went to UCLA for 1040 movie screening, that movie really challenged me. www.1040movie.com check it out when you have a chance. I can't wait to see where this generation will be for God in a couple years.
Went to the Lacma with a friend of mine, we saw/listened to a classical concert.
It was nice, I haven't heard a live concert like that in a while. It was really good, it was a strings concert. Saw some art and just hung out. I'm so blessed to have people in my life! It's through people I'm able to feel the love of God!

God Bless! Have a blessed week!

No pain no gain!

So its been about 4 or 5 days since I've had my knee surgery! Things are looking pretty good. I took off my dressing/bandage thursday morning and that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! The doctor was o so generous to give me 2 screws and 15 staples! Man so generous with his medical hardware. My right knee looks like a mix of train tracks and Frankenstein. But overall things are looking great, I stopped taking pain meds and am able to walk a bit on it. I can't do straight leg raises, won't be able to do that till a couple months or hopefully weeks. 2 days ago I was blessed with the company of some good friends from church, I'm truly blessed to have friends that will come over eat, play, and have some fellowship with. I've been feeling so much God's love through people these days. My parents are amazing people as well, I've taken for granted the things my parents do for me, its amazing through my parents God is saying so many things! Praise the Lord! I got out the house yesterday as well, which felt great but was super tired after I got home. Its hard for me to sit for long periods of time because I have to keep my leg stretched out. God bless you!

After party

Dang! What a pain surgery is! The surgery went by quick! All I remember is sucking in some gas and them shaving my leg and 4 hours later (which felt like 10 mins) i woke up! After the surgery I didn't really have much pain because they just numbed up my whole right leg! It felt so weird, it felt as if my leg was my mouth after going to the dentist, just that numbing sensation. I thought I was going to stay at the hospital for a night but they let me go home. On the way home I felt like puking from the anesthesia and I had no strength, I don't even know how I got myself in the apartment which requires me to scale a flight of stairs. But I made it and I went straight to bed! I pretty much stayed in bed all day yesterday. At 9 PM my friend decides to drop-by, which was really nice of her. She bought me a get well pineapple and some scar creme. I'm not really used to people caring for me and am extremely grateful for people like her, truly a blessing to have her in my life! Thanks! So last night the numbness went away and I had some major pain in my knee. I got up and popped in some vicodin, this was my first time ever taking these. The medicine took a while to work, but I woke up the next morning and wanted to pass out! I was having cold sweats and dizziness. I'm kinda scared to take those pills again, so I just popped some advil, after staying in bed all day my back was killing me so I had to get out. Feels like someone took a hammer to my knee! The pain will go away soon, and I'll be able to live through this one! God is great!

No food or water

So tomorrow is the big day! Waking up at 5 AM and heading to the hospital to get my knee cap glued back together! One thing is that I'm excited because that means I'll be able to walk and get active again sooner. I'm not really nervous, God is going to be with me! So its all good! I've been going through quite a bit in my life right now. God is opening so many doors and just really moving in my life. I love how He keeps on wanting to teach me. There are actually alot of things I need to work on myself, and God has been showing me what I need to work on. I'm so blessed to have such loving and caring people in my life! God has blessed me with so many good friends and a wonderful family! My grandpa is the one and only, he bought me flowers today so that when I come back home from my surgery I can feel better from the flowers. The best grandpa I can ever ask for! The surgery is suppose to take about 2 hours or so, I'm not sure if I'll be spending the night there or not. Everyone is freaking out about how LA is going to be hit with a big earthquake or something like that in the next few days, but I'm not so sure about that. How accurate is the weather man? How accurate is a scientist that can't see the plates and flats 893276498327984798234 meter below the ground. I guess we will just have to wait and feel for it. Time to take a nice hot shower and catch some zzzz's!!

Going under the knife

So, where do I begin? Today was a interesting, shocking, fun, and exciting day! First off my day started off at 0700 (7am for those who are not familiar with military time). After brushing off my sleepiness and eye boogers, I went straight for my Bible for some quiet time with the Lord. God is so good, I'm reading the book for Proverbs its full of knowledge! Seeking after the wisdom of God! After that I had a lil lunch planned with my good friend actually let me rephrase that BEST friend! She was kind enough to buy me some tasty chicken! Before I get to that, I had a doctors appointment to get my knee checked out. I was quite in shock when the doctor told me I should have surgery on my knee. I have never had surgery before in my life! Just when my wisdom teeth got pulled while I was in boot camp for the Marines. Yes, I got all four pulled out at the same time. Anyways, so the doctor tells me I'm going to be going under the knife, he's going to put in two screws in my knee cap. The doctor was pretty cool, but he said he hates working at the VA hospital, which I understand because alot of vets are grumpy. So I try to bring something else when I go to the VA, I bring my smiling happy Jesus loving face and give them hope that not all vets are like that. I'm pretty nervous, but you know what? God is with me and He gives me peace. So I left the hospital knowing I was coming back soon. Then I went to pick up my BEST friend for lunch, we had some lunch and did a little talking about life, love, relationships, and God! Let me tell you a little bit of my friend, she's really cool, nice, funny and everything awesome! At first I thought I wouldn't be friends with her but we end up being the best of friends! I'm so thankful for her! So after the lunch I come home and watched a movie. CJ7 was the name of the movie, its a Chinese movie with Stephen Chow and its pretty funny if you like his movies. Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle are his main stream movies, but CJ7 is a family/kid/heartfelt movie, check it out if you have a chance. God BLess you!

Jesus said we were worth it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJMbk9dtpdY

Watch this video, for those who believe in Jesus Christ.
Think of how we as humans in our sin are carried by Jesus Christ.
He pushes us with His sweat, blood, and tears to the finish line.
God is the finish line, through it all Jesus Christ says we are worth it!

For those that don't believe, the movie should move you as well.

God bless!

#1

So where do you begin? It's been a while since I've written anything like this. I remember back in the day when people used xanga to "blog." This should be interesting, my friend who is an avid blogger thought it would be interesting for me to start blogging. My life isn't that exciting, but I guess I can start by introducing myself.
My name is Joe I'm 2* years old (I'll let you guess that second number). I was just recently discharged from the United States Marine Corps after serving 5 years. I did 2 tours and traveled to all sorts of places; just to name a few places: Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, Kuwait, and etc etc. After serving 5 years I'm some what of a free soul from the government. After I got out I was planning on getting into law enforcement, but God had different plans for me! Which at first I was a bit hesitant but I'm so glad I obeyed. My life would not be the same if it wasn't for Him! FYI I'm a Jesus Freak! So I gave up law enforcement and went to Perth Australia where I attended a DTS, for those of you who know what that is. God has been moving in my life so much, I'm so blessed. I'm meeting wonderful people and building beautiful healthy relationships with so many people. God is really working in my life and its exciting!
So the most recent "adventure" I have going for me is that I was in a hit and run accident, I was the one that got hit. I like to think I'm an avid cyclist, living in heavy metropolitan it's alot easier and faster to get around on a bicycle. I was riding my happy little butt to Walgreens to pick up some ink for my printer, I ran out of ink and needed to print some missionary support letters. So as I was about to cross a street, this Mini Cooper (silver, black stripes) is blocking the crosswalk and he just pulls out and hits me and runs! I've never been in that kind of accident, but I came out alive with just a fracture, THANK GOD I could have died, God was really watching over me in that one, but once I'm back on the road my head is going to have a helmet on it! 4 weeks till I'll be able to have a cruise around. Also I've gotten into some salsa dancing as well, but we shall see how that works out. So yea, hope you enjoyed my first entry to whoever will read this blog of mine. God bless and be safe!

God is good all the time,
all the time God is good!
